Patiala, August 9, 2020: Punjab Pollution Control Board has extended the last date of the consent to Establish/Operate, Authorization, Registration and any other mandatory regulatory clearances up to 31.03.2021subject to prescribed conditions.
Keeping in view the economic slowdown due to COVID -19 the Board in its meeting held on July 22, 2020. The notification issued to implement the decision says :
1. Consent/Authorization/Registration Application shall be submitted along with fee and undertaking to the effect that the industry is complying with the consent/authorization conditions and achieves the effluent/emission standard at all times.
2. The site inspection shall be carried out in due course of time. In case of any violations, appropriate action shall be taken under the relevant provisions of the Acts/Rules.
3. In case of any complaint/violation, the consent/authorization shall automatically be considered to be revoked.
“It’s a welcome step by the Punjab government. We are thankful to Principal secy Environment, chairman Pollution control board and Member secretary for their kind efforts on this,” said R S Sachdeva, Member Pollution Control Board and Mentor PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
