Patiala, August 11, 2020: Chander Gaind, Divisional Commissioner, Patiala Division appealed to the people to take necessary precautions to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus, for the success of the Mission Fateh, launched by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh.

Medical Education and Health Department coordinate with each other for Covid-19 treatment: Gaind
Gaind said that people should not panic as the situation in Patiala district was under control adding all arrangements have been made by the Punjab Government, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research Departments for the treatment of Covid, after having ameeting with Dr. Harish Malhotra, Medical Superintendent Rajindra Hospital Paras Kumar Pandav and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Vinod Dangwal, to review about the status of Covid-19.
On this occasion, Dr. Pandav giving information about the Covid arrangements at Rajindra Hospital said, there are 204 patients in the hospital, who are being provided the treatment under Level-2 and Level-3 protocol. He said that the facility of ventilator beds was being increased from 54 to 66.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra said that isolation arrangements have been made in the Civil Hospitals of Rajpura, Nabha and Samana for the pregnant Covid patients to reduce the burden on the gynecological ward of Rajindra Hospital. He said that on the orders of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh the number of tests has also been increased.
Appreciating the role of doctors of Health Department, Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, in this hour of crisis, Gaind said, both departments should work in coordination with each other to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and perform their duties with more responsibility for its treatment.
He also sought detailed information from the Civil Surgeon about the increase in positive cases of Covid-19 in Patiala district, their contact finding, testing, isolation, and solitary confinement zones in private and government hospitals besides the availability of beds and other facilities for the treatment of Covid victims.
Gaind reiterated his call on the people to wear masks, wash their hands frequently, avoid large gatherings, to avoid the growing effects of Covid-19. He also made it clear that those who will not follow these instructions would face challans as per the law.
