Impose fine worth Rs. 1.39 Cr on 29120 for not wearing mask under Mission Fateh
Jalandhar, August 11, 2020 : Further intensifying its drive to ensure the strict compliance of medical protocols that mandate social distancing and masking to halt the spread of Covid-19, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has so far issued 29120 challans to them, under the 'Mission Fateh' initiated by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and imposed a fine of Rs 1.39 crore on the violators since March 23.
Disclosing more information, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the Police have so far issued 29120 without mask challans and collected a fine worth Rs 1.39 crore from the violators.
He said that a fine worth Rs 84000 has been imposed so far for 45 violations of home quarantine instructions adding that 453 persons have been fined Rs 116100 for spitting in public place.
The Commissioner of Police said that a total of 51992 challans have been issued so far to the traffic violators and 2288 vehicles have been impounded.
Mr Bhullar further said that fine worth Rs 137000 has been imposed on overloaded 71 four wheelers, Rs 17000 on overloaded 34 Autos and fine worth Rs 449000 has been imposed on 222 for violating social distancing norms.
He said that today, 165 traffic challans were issued. He said that today 163 persons without mask were challaned and a fine worth Rs 81500 was imposed on them.
The Commissioner of Police said that this drive would continue in the coming days and action would be taken against the violators adding that the people have to play a vanguard role for further checking the spread of COVID 19.
