Mayank Foundation celebrates 74th I-Day with visually-impaired persons
Mayank Foundation celebrated the 74th Independence Day with the inmates of Home for the Blinds, Ferozepur. Members of the foundation visited the premises of the institute and hoisted the national flag in a small ceremony to mark the celebration of the day.
Members of the institute led by Secretary Ashwani Sharma and Joint Secretary Harish Monga welcomed the members of the foundation and took oath to continue to work for the betterment of the institute from every perspective. Speaking on the occasion, Ashwani Sharma said that it is a great occasion for the nation not only to remember the patriots of the nation but also to take a pledge to follow their footprints.
Harish Monga, who is also a social worker and city- based established scribe while stressing upon the need to stand firm to uplift the country in the tough times of corona said, “It is an added responsibility on each of us to make extra efforts to overcome the damage done by the corona scare. I pray that the pandemic goes away at the earliest.”
While Deepak Sharma, who was born and brought up at the very institute said in an emotional tone that his late father who came here in 1954 never gave the celebration of the day in the institute a miss. Deepak, along with his brother Kamal, took oath to forward the legacy of his father to celebrate the Independence Day at the venue.
Meanwhile Rakesh Kumar , another founding member of the Foundation assured every help to the institute. Various members of the foundation namely Manoj Gupta, Deepak Grover, Kamal Sharma, Rohit Garg, Charanjeet Singh, Navinder Kumar and Gur Sahab Singh were also present during the occasion.
