Punjabi University Student bodies condemn Modi Government’s anti Punjabi and anti Farmer policies
Patiala, September 16, 2020 : Punjabi University Student bodies condemn Modi Government Anti-Punjabi and Anti-farmer Policies.
Today seven student bodies of Punjabi University Patiala staged Protest against Anti-Punjabi and Anti-Farmer policies of Modi led BJP Government. This joint Protest was called by seven student bodies namely AIRSA, PRSU, DSO, SOI,OPUS,NSUI, and SWAG. While addressing the gathering Balkar Singh from DSO condoenm the modi government for bringing three argiculture ordinances and for exculding Punjabi from Jammu and Kashmir Offical language Bill 2020. Deep Grewal from OPUS said that agricultural ordinances are Anti Punjab as majority of people in Punjab are dependent on agricultural. Rashpinderr Jimmy strongly condemned the central government and call it's fascist government whose aim is establishment of fascist rule in India. Kulbeer Singh Badal ( Chairman, AIRSA) said that Punjabi is widely spoken in Jammu and Kashmir and it's unfortunate that it's exculed from Jammu and Kashmir Offical language Bill. Apart from this he said that as per Jammu and Kashmir reorganization act the right to make any language as Offical language of Jammu and Kashmir was reserved with the J&K assembly and Jammu and Kashmir Offical language is altravirus in itself. But we demand inculsion of Punjabi in the bill. He also said that agricultural ordinances are Anti farming community. Kushwinder Singh from SOI said we demand inculsion of Punjabi Language and rejection of agriculture ordinances and we support the agitation and cause of famers. Protesters have said 'we support the cause and Support the demands of farmers and we also demand that Punjabi should be included in J&K Offical Language Bill. Apart from this they have critised government for arrseting students and political activist and their detention under UAPA. Student leader's have threatened to holad a nation wide Protest if above mentioned demands are not acknowledge and accept by the government.
