Chandigarh, September 20, 2020: Starting October 1, mandatory e-invoice requirements as per the India GST law will begin. To comply with this law, Facebook India Online Services Private Limited ('Facebook India') will submit requisite transactions for Advertisers to the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP).
Specifically, this will be for all Advertisers with a valid Goods and Service Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) recorded on their profile. As a result of this regulation, all GSTIN-linked invoices provided to advertisers by Facebook India will become official e-invoice documents and will contain details including the relevant QR code as required by India GST law.
Advertisers who do not hold a GSTIN will continue to receive invoices as they currently do. In both cases, advertisers will be able to retrieve their invoices from Ads Manager as currently happens today.
Please note the following important points as regards to e-invoicing.
Ensure that your GSTIN and business name and business address details are all present and correct in your Ads Manager settings.
Invalid or missing GSTIN details will prevent a valid e-invoice document from being generated. In such cases, a default Facebook invoice will be generated instead.
Invalid or missing business address details will be substituted with the advertisers recorded address details as detailed on the GSTN records.
E-invoices, once generated, cannot be corrected or updated and reissued. Therefore, please ensure that your details are correct as noted above.
Note that Facebook India will be required to share invoice data with the Indian Government as part of this process.
