UGC-HRDC, GNDU start online Refresher Course in Basic Sciences

Amritsar, September 26, 2020: Prof. Renu Bhardwaj, Director Research, Guru Nanak Dev University, inaugurated Two Week Online Refresher Course in Basic Sciences, being conducted by UGC-Human resource Development Centre.
Prof. Adarsh Pal Vig, Director, HRDC, GNDU welcomed all 29 participants and ensured full support during 2-week online refresher course while elaborating the role of HRDC. Dr. Rajbir Bhatti, Deputy-Director, HRDC welcomed the Chief Guest. In her inaugural session,
Prof. Renu Bhardwaj, Director Research and Professor of Botanical and Environmental Sciences spoke about the achievements and contribution of Guru Nanak Dev University for promotion of all sciences reflected through the H-index, establishment of new departments, grants, MOUs and academic ranking in India under the encouraging leadership of Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. She elaborated that science faculty must contribute to the development of new ideas, start ups, innovations, research on local problems, Clean India Mission etc. to make Atamnirbhar Bharat. Implementation of NEP-2020 and framing of Science Technology Innovation Policy (STIP-2020) has to be worked out with mission to promote science education in states and central institutions. GNDU being one of the leading universities of Punjab, is always proactive in conducting teachers training programmes and research collaborations at national and international levels.
Dr Vandana Bhalla and Dr. Pooja Chadha, Course Coordinators told about the contents and resource persons of the course. Two weeks Online Refresher Course in Basic Science is specially designed by this HRDC for science faculty of higher educational institute of India. Emphasis is on the enhance Personal, Instructional, Organizational and Professional developments of the teachers through lectures and discussions.
