The Punjab Bandh had hit the normal life in the State due to farmers protests against the three contentious farm legislations which were passed by Parliament earlier this week.

The farmer leader further said that in view of the overwhelming response to the call for Punjab Bandh from all sections and the people of the country, the Modi government should read the writing on the wall and immediately repeal the three Agriculture Ordinances and other anti-people laws as 85 percent of the country’s benefactors would be out of agriculture and the corporate houses will take over the entire agriculture sector keeping out the farmers from this profession.
Repeating the genuine demands of the farmers, they said, besides withdrawing the three anti-farmers ordinances, the other demands like adding 50 percent of the profit over the expenses while deciding the MSP, pension of Rs.10,000 to the farmers and labourers over 60 years of age as social security, adopting Dr.Swaminathan’s report in toto, providing free education up to graduation and guarantee to employment
