BJP leader resigns from party’s primary membership in protest against Farm Bills
Ferozepur September 27, 2020 - Former BJP President Kamal Sharma's former OSD Punjab BJP Arvinder Singh Chhina resigned from the party's primary membership in favour of farmers after the passing of the anti-farmer Bills saying that he is the son of a farmer and his sympathy is with the farmers.
He said that by passing the bill, the Government of India has done a great disservice to the farmers. Modi and the Sikh leadership at the Center are justifying these bills to save their seats. He is deeply saddened by the fact that he served the party so diligently for so many years.
He further said that he would join in every struggle with the farmers' organizations. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not rollback these Bills, the Bharatiya Janata Party will cease to exist in Punjab. He has resigned from the primary membership of the BJP, in favor of the farming community.
