Commissionerate Police crack murder case of 17-year-old within 24 hours
One juvenile friend held, cops seize cricket bat used in crime
Jalandhar September 29, 2020 : Within 24-hours of the murder of 17-year-old boy in Lal Kurti market in Cantonment locality on Monday evening, Commissionerate Police on Tuesday cracked the case and arrested a friend of victim who is also a juvenile, from his house.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the Cantonment police had registered a case under section 302, 34 of IPC on the complaint of Ashok Kumar who told police that his grandson Armaan was studying in 12th class local KV-4 in cantonment. He said that his father was a France based NRI and mother along with daughter had gone to Himachal Pradesh.
Commissioner of Police said Ashok revealed when he went to meet Armaan at his house on Monday evening but was shocked after finding his body in a pool of blood. The body had sharp injuries on his face and head, he stated.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar further said on receiving information, DCP Balkar Singh, ADCP Ashwani Kumar, ACP Major Singh, ACP Kanwaljeet Singh, CIA Heads Harminder Singh and Ashwani Kumar rushed there and started the probe.
He said that the cops carried out a detailed probe in this case and arrested a juvenile who is a friend of Armaan.
The Commissioner of Police said that both victim and accused were studying together earlier and the victim had a friendship with a girl, also minor. He said that the accused had feeling for the girl resulting in him having jealousy from the victim.
He added the accused hatched conspiracy to eliminate the victim and executed the crime in a thoroughly planned manner. The accused attacked the victim's head and face with a cricket bat and also strangulated him, he added.
He said that the accused would be produced in the juvenile court.
He also announced to appropriate reward for the cops who played a key role in the busting the murder case within 24-hours.
