- Directs private hospitals to attend every patient reporting in emergency
- Asks, officials to intensify the contact tracing and testing in the district
Jalandhar, October 1, 2020 - Amid declining trend in Covid cases and fatalities in Jalandhar, the district administration has decided to close the Covid Care Centre, established in Government Meritorious School.
Presiding over a meeting with health and civil officials on Thursday in District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner accompanied by Additional Deputy commissioner (D) Vishesh Sarangal said that the decision has been taken in view of the downward trend of the Covid cases in Jalandhar besides in consultation with Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare).
He stated that presently, there are only 24 patients in Covid Care Centre who will be shifted to the Civil Hospital.
The Deputy Commissioner also took strict notice when informed that some private hospitals had been showing reluctance in starting treatment of the patients arriving in emergency.
He clearly said that no private hospital must behave irresponsibly and strict action would be initiated against erring.
Meanwhile, he reiterated that contacts of every positive case must be tested and isolated at the earliest besides asking them to intensify the contact tracing and early testing drive.
The Deputy Commissioner accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal asked them to identify, test and isolate the contacts as soon as possible so that they could not further transmit the virus.
Ghanshyam Thori added that topmost priority must be given to contact tracing of a Covid positive.
On the occasion, SDMs Rahul Sindhu, Gautam Jain, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Dr Jai Inder Singh, PUDA EO Navneet Kaur Bal, MC Joint Commissioner Innayat Gupta, Civil Surgeon Dr Gurinder Kaur Chawala, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Gurmeet Kaur Duggal others were present.
