Chandigarh, October 20, 2020: “Today, the three Bills that were introduced in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha underlines the State’s unequivocal opposition to the three Central Anti-Farmer Acts from the people of Punjab,” said Partap Singh Bajwa, Member of Parliament.
“It makes me extremely proud as a Punjabi to witness our Kisan Jathebandis, political parties and people standing united with our farmers. I also greatly appreciate the strong support that the Indian National Congress and the Government of Punjab have continuously shown for our kisans,” Bajwa said.
“Throughout history the people of Punjab have always stood against those who have sought to impede upon our rights. Raja Porus stood against Sikander-e-azam over 2,300 years ago, protecting the subcontinent from the Macedonians, forcing Sikander to limit his eastwards expansion and return to Greece. Similarly, the people of Punjab, today, have shown our grit in opposing the attempted erosion of the Indian constitution by the Narendra Modi led Government of India,” he said.
“The strength of the State of Punjab has always been our impetus in promoting agriculture. Today, our democratic institutions have taken a strong stand to protect the agricultural sector of the State. I hope the Prime Minister for once would also listen to the Mann ki Baat of the Punjabis. Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” Bajwa said.
