Teams check all CCTV cameras installed in City to ensure safety
Around 1500 Police Officers/ Officislas to keep strict vigil in the city
Jalandhar, October 24, 2020: Ahead of Dusshera on Sunday and other upcoming festivals, the Commissionerate Police have strengthened the security in the areas which are set to witness huge footfall during these days.
On the directions of Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, special teams led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Gurmeet Singh conducted the checking of all CCTV cameras installed in the several points of the city to keep close vigil on the movement of the people in these areas and ensuring safety and security of the people.
Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that we are keeping on high-alert and all security measures have been stepped up in the city to avert any mishap.
He said teams will monitor and patrol these places round the clock as these will witness celebrations and high footfall during this period including shopping malls, markets, hotels, restaurants, bus stand, railway station and others.
He said that CCTV cameras have been checked and scanned by these teams without fail so that no untoward incident takes place in the city.
Bhullar told that 1500 police officers/officials have been deployed to keep strict security in the city and policemen in plain clothes have been deputed at several places to prevent any mishap.
He said that response from the PCR team must be prompt and effective to tackle any sort of untoward incident.
The Commissioner of Police said that the PCR officials must take minimum time to reach at the spot of crime or mishap as soon as they get the information regarding it.
He said that this would ensure effective dealing with any sort of crime or incident in the city.
The Commissioner of Police said that traffic management in the festive season is a big challenge but the Commissionerate Police would overcome it by meticulous planning and effective execution.
