Deposit more than two weapons on one licence, ADC tells owners
Ferozepur, October 28, 2020: The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rajdeep Kaur has asked the armed licence holders to deposit their more than two weapons as government has issued orders to the effect that ammunition licence holder can hold a maximum of two firearms on his ammunition licence.
As per the information, more than 300 ammunition license holders of the district have more than two weapons on their license whereas any license holder cannot keep more than two firearms on his ammunition license.
ADC said, the licence holder must deposit their third weapon at the nearest police station/unit or with the authorized gun houses in Ferozepur and get it deleted before December 13, 2020 from the licence.
She further said, the formalities with regard to sale or transfer of third weapon can be completed at the nearest Sewa Kendra for getting the NOC for sale before get it deleted from the valid licence.
Making it clear to the third weapon holder, she said, in case the third additional arm is not got deleted before December 13, 2020, the required action, as per the law, against the defaulter would be initiated for its transfer or salebesides cancellation of the arms licence. The army personnel can deposit the additional third weapon with the Army Unit.
The police authorities have separately directed the gun houses to make sufficient security arrangements for protection of weapons in the storerooms, installation of security alert system and CCTV cameras besides keeping the proper record of sold firearms to plrevent any kind of untoward incident.
