Ashutosh Gangal takes over as General Manager, Northern Railway
Delhi, October 28, 2020: Ashutosh Gangal has taken over the charge as General Manager, Northern Railway. Prior to this, he was working as Additional Member (Planning) Railway Board.
Ashutosh Gangal holds a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers (IRIMEE), Jamalpur, Bihar in 1985. He has also received Gold Medals in Section A and B from the Institution of Engineers, India. He has experience of working in various positions in Indian Railways for more than 35 years. Prior to this he has also held the posts of Chief Mechanical Engineer at West Central Railway, Jabalpur, Senior Deputy General Manager at Central Railway, Mumbai and Divisional Railway Manager, Baroda.
Gangal has also graced the posts of West Central Railway in East, Chief Mechanical Engineer in Jabalpur, Senior Deputy General Manager in Central Railway, Mumbai and Divisional Railway Manager, Baroda.
Ashutosh Gangal has also served on deputation in Container Corporation of India Limited for about 4 years and has also held the post of Chief Factory Engineer in-charge of Furnishing Division, Integral Coach Factory, Chennai. Gangal has also worked in the Vehicle Dynamics Group and Research Directorate at RDSO Lucknow.
Gangal visited overseas training institutes, International Anti-Corruption Agency (IACA), Austria; Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA; SDA-Bocconi Business School has also received training for various management development programs at Milan, Italy and Lycon Yen School-University of Singapore.
Apart from the above training, Gangal has also gone to Germany, Israel and Sweden on official assignments. He has also served in the Railway Board as the Coordinator for the National Infrastructure Pipeline Project for Railways. Gangal has also contributed his valuable services as President for Sports Promotion Activities in ICF, Central Railway and West Central Railway.
