Ferozepur: Former BJP MLA Sukhpal Singh Nannu joins back BJP
Ferozepur January 25, 2022: Former MLA from Ferozepur and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sukhpal Singh Nannu, who quit the BJP in support of farmers agitation over three farm laws, has now joined back the BJP and denied the ticket which has now been given Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi from Ferozepur Urban.
Rana Sodhi four-time MLA on Congress ticket from Guruharshai had quit the Congress party and joined the BJP on December 21.
Whereas Nannu had resigned from the BJP in view of the plight of the farmers in the area, once again, as the elections approached, the party handed over the ticket from Ferozepur urban constituency to Congress candidate Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi.
But finally, with the coordination and morale of senior BJP leaders, Sukhpal Singh Nannu rejoined the BJP. He was accompanied by Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, a BJP candidate from Ferozepur.
Punjab BJP’s leaders from Chandigarh joined back the BJP party in the presence of Rana Sodhi at the press meet at his residence. They said Nannu will be given the due respect in the party as hitherto. Nannu too assured to work day and night for the party and ensure for winning of the seat from Ferozepur by the BJP.
