Sangrur: 'Signature campaign' urging people to exercise their voting right in Assembly elections launched

Sangrur, February 11, 2022: District Election Officer, Mr. Ramvir launched a signature campaign at District Election Office, Sangrur, to motivate the voters of all Assembly constituencies of District Sangrur to exercise their voting right on 20th February.
While initiating the campaign, he said that it is the moral duty of every adult citizen of the district to exercise their voting right in the upcoming Assembly to strengthen the democracy.
The District Election Officer said that as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI), besides election preparations being in full swing in all assembly constituencies, voter education is given due importance. Every citizen who signs the specially prepared 'Voter Pledge' feels proud to uphold the dignity of free, fair, and peaceful elections while maintaining the democratic traditions of the country.
He said that each citizen should exercise their voting right in all the elections without the influence of religion, class, caste, community, language, or any other greed.
He further said that these kinds of voting pledge boards will be installed at the department level in all constituencies so that more citizens can participate enthusiastically in this important voting festival.
Additional District Election Officer Shri Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, District Nodal Officer Sweep Mr. Latif Ahmed, and other officials of various departments also signed the voter pledge board on the occasion.
