Ferozepur police freeze drug smugglers’ assets worth Rs.76.55 lac in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 16, 2024: As part of the anti-drug campaign, the Feozepur police, are cracking down on drug traffickers. In one such case, the property of Sukhchain Singh alias Sonu, son of Gurdeep Singh, resident of village Bhakhra Ferozepur, who has immovable property worth Rs. 76,55,407 was seized after getting orders from the Competent Authority.
SSP Soumiya Mishra said the process to freeze the property of Sukhchain Singh was completed after getting proper orders from the Competent Authority. The drug smugglers now cannot sell or transfer this property to anyone without orders from the Competent Authority.
According to the immovable property of Sukhchain Singh Singh alias Sonu, a house on a plot of 49.92 marlas situated in ‘Lal Lakir’, worth Rs.72,48,000, a vehicle Tata Ace worth Rs.3,52,032 in the movable property and a bank account of Rs.55,375 having the total value is Rs.76,55,407 was frozen by the police. These freezing orders have been given under Section 68-F (2) NDPS Act 1985 under the order of the Competent Authority of New Delhi. These were also pasted outside the house by the police team in the presence of DSP City Sukhwinder Singh and SHO Jaswant Singh.
SSP Somyan Mishra said, while sharing the information that in the last year 2023, in a total of 30 cases, property worth more than Rs.15 crores had been attached. During this year 2024, property of more than Rs.1 crore has been frozen in 2 cases so far. She said that the campaign against drugs will continue in the same way.
