Strict action will be taken on violating ideal election code: Tarn Taran DC

Tarn Tarn, April 26, 2024: District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Taran Taran Sandeep Kumar. Given the Lok Sabha elections today, during the meeting held with the representatives of various political parties at the District Administrative Complex Taran Taran, he has instructed all the political parties and potential candidates to strictly follow the ideal election procedure.
He said that prior approval is necessary for all types of election meetings, election rallies, and the use of loudspeakers. Therefore, the concerned party or candidate of their constituency can contact the office and the approvals will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis by the Office of the Registrar, giving equal priority to all parties.
He said that according to the ideal election code if any rally meeting is held without approval, it will be considered a violation of the code.
The District Election Officer said that according to the ideal election code, no political event can be held in any religious place. He asked the political leaders to focus their election campaigns on their policies and refrain from commenting on the personal lives of others or giving such communal speeches, which may cause tension in society.
Sandeep Kumar said that political advertisement cannot be done on public property. While printing any kind of pamphlets, posters, banners, or flexes, the name of the printer and publisher must be written on it. Under the Defiance of Property Act, no political advertisement can be put up in a government place and no political advertisement or flag can be put up in a private person's place without his consent.
Apart from this, he said that political parties can also get approvals related to elections online by applying through the facility application.
He said that the Election Commission has prohibited political parties and candidates from using animals in election campaigns. According to the instructions of the Election Commission, child labor cannot be used in election campaign activities.
The District Election Officer said that legal action will be taken against him as per the instructions of the Adarsh Election Board if anyone violates the Adarsh Election Board.
