Varinder further said soon nearly 1,000 more cattle would be allowed to stay in the pound in the coming days.
DC said a local committee has been constituted to run these ponds. Staff for the cattle pond has been recruited and the drinking water facility for the animals as well as for the staff has been provided.
“The effort of the village panchayat is praiseworthy. This will help us improve the facilities in the gaushala. The farmers will also get respite as the stray cattle destroy their crops” said DC Varinder Sharma.
