Chandigarh, July 27, 2016:
The Vigilance Bureau (VB) has nabbed two employees of the state government for accepting bribe.
An official spokesperson of the VB informed that a Junior Engineer of PSPCL red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.8,000. The JE Jasbir Singh, posted at the east circle sub urban PSPCL , Amritsar, was nabbed on the complaint of Raj Kumar resident of Ram Teerath Road, Gawal Mandi Amritsar. The Complainant in his complaint has alleged that he runs a jewelry shop on the name of Satguru Jeweler and the electricity meter of his shop was out of order due to some technical snag. He said that when he registered the complaint on line, the said JE Jasbir Singh came and inspected the meter and put allegation on Ram Kumar for tempering with the meter. The JE demanded bribe of Rs. 12,000 for getting this case cleared and not to initiate further against the Mr. Ram Kumar. He said that the deal was finally struck at Rs.8,000. On the tip off provided by the complainant a trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau and the JE Jasbir Singh was apprehended red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 8,000.
In another case Sleuths of the VB nabbed reader of SDM, Amloh, red handed. The accused Lakshmi Kant, was nabbed on the complaint of Surinder Singh of village Bharpurgarh, Tehsil Amloh, District Fategarh Sahib. The complainant in his complaint said that his joint family owned 39 acres of agriculture land and out of his 6 siblings ,he was fighting a case of division of land with two of his siblings. He alleged that the case was pending with the SDM, Amloh and Lakhsmi Kant, reader to SDM was demanding bribe of Rs. 25,000 to get the case adjudicated in his favour.
On the tip off provided by the complainant a trap was laid and the reader Lakhsmi Kant was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 25,000.
