New Delhi, August 24, 2016: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that Union Minister of Shipping , Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has declared two new National Highways for Haryana namely Gurgaon – Pataudi – Rewari (52 Km) and Patiala – Pehowa – Kurukshetra – Ladwa – Yamuna Nagar (120 Km).
Khattar said that the declaration was made during meeting with Nitin Gadkari to discuss various road projects related to the State in New Delhi today.
He saaid said that Union Minister would lay the foundation stone of 4 laning of Jind-Punjab Border Section (NH-71) on September 11, 2016. On the same day, he would start the work of various projects including construction of flyover and underpass at Hero Honda Chowk and improvement of existing Junctions of IFFCO Chowk, Signature Tower and Rajiv Chowk on Delhi – Gurgaon NH 8 in Gurgaon.
During the meeting, the issues regarding improvement of NH-248A (Gurgaon-Alwar) and construction of U-turn facility in front of Ambience Mall,Gurgaon were thoroughly discussed. Also, permission regarding construction of missing links from Ambience Mall to Mehrauli Road and Meharuli Road to NH-8 was also granted in the meeting. Similarly, the Union Minister has asked the State Government to provide action plan for construction of flyover at Bilaspur Junction so that further action in this regard could be taken.
Manohar Lal said that the State Government has already sent the estimate for construction of Pinjore bye pass on NH 21A, construction of Sohna bye pass and Rai Malikpur – Narnaul – Bhiwani road and the Union Ministry has assured to take timely action on them. He said that the Union Minister has given approval for more than one and a half dozen projects and has issued directions to the concerned officials to send estimates and DPRs of the projects with immediate effect.
While taking a serious note of the increasing number of road accidents, Nitin Gadkari asked the State officials to provide detailed record along with the reasons for accidents that took place on National and State Highways. He also announced to give financial aid of Rs 100 crore through Central Road Fund to the State Government for it.
Those present on the occasion include Haryana Public Works Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department Hardeep Singh and various other dignitaries.
