Chandigarh, September 26, 2016: The Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries department has decided to launch an app for disseminating important information to the animal breeders of the state besides making them aware regarding various innovations in this sector.
Giving instructions to the departmental officials in a meeting here today, the Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Minister, Punjab, S. Gulzar Singh Ranike instructed to provide medicines without delay in the veterinary hospitals in order to ensure treatment of animals in time. He said that the animal breeders are dependent mostly on the medicines from the veterinary hospitals for treatment of their animals and the continuous supply of medicines would be effective in saving them from incurring the financial loss. The minister also said that the mobile vans operated at district level are instrumental in providing departmental services and know-how about rearing of animals and their medication to the people living in far flung areas. He also instructed to make people aware regarding these vans through radio publicity mode so as to enable animal breeders to get useful information in time. The meeting also decided to hold district level livestock championship from 16thOctober 2016-15th November.
Among others present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary Mandeep Singh Sandhu, Director Animal Husbandry H.S. Sandha, Director Dairy Farming Inderjit Singh and Director Fisheries Madan Mohan.
