Ferozepur, On a state call, Punjab State Ministerial Services Employees Union, the Govt. Employees proceeded on pen-down strike and hold protest on Wednesday and organized rally in the city holding Black Flags in their hands and jammed the traffic.
Addressing the rally, Manohar Lal, District President, Pippal Singh, General Secretary, Subeg Singh State President and K.L.Garg, former President informed that the government has done a mockery with the government employees by announcing the 6 per cent DA whereas no attention has paid towards various other demands like – removal anomalies in the revised scales on Jan 1, 2011, bringing under pension scheme the employees recruited after Jan. 1, 2004, release of allowance already withdrawn, constitution of next pay commission, cancellation of letter dated Ja 15, 2015 for fixed wages etc.
Later on, the rally passed through the bazaars and main roads to show their resentment towards the government, with black flags in their hands on the motor cycles, scooters etc. in the city and cantt areas jamming the traffic.
The Union leaders said, in case the demands of the employees are not accepted, the agitation will be intensified on November 3, 2016.
