Jalandhar, January 18, 2017: A total of 1545240 voters from 9 assembly constituencies of Jalandhar district would exercise their right to vote during the Punjab Assembly polls-2017. Disclosing this, District Electoral Officer Jalandhar Kamal Kishore Yadav said that 1830 polling stations have been established in 9 assembly constituencies of Jalandhar. Elaborating more, Mr. Yadav said that there are total 193796 voters in Phillaur constituency out of which 100935 are male and 92860 are female with 1 belonging to the third gender. In Nakodar constituency, there are total 184910 voters out of which 95818 are male and 89090 are female with 2 being of third gender. In Shahkot constituency, there are total 171954 voters out of which 88786 are male and 83166 are female with 2 being of third gender. In Kartarpur constituency, there are total 170394 voters out of which 88895 are male and 81497 are female with 2 being of third gender. In Jalandhar West constituency, there are total 151745 voters out of which 79941 are male and 71803 are female with 1 being of third gender. In Jalandhar Central constituency, there are total 155505 voters out of which 80873 are male and 74628 are female with 4 being of third gender. In Jalandhar North constituency, there are total 172218 voters out of which 91004
are male and 81213 are female with 1 being of third gender. In Jalandhar Cantt. constituency, there are total 183796 voters out of
which 97281 are male and 86510 are female with 5 being of third gender. In Adampur constituency, there are total 156768 voters out of which 81552 are male and 75215are female with 1 being of third gender.
Disclosing further, Mr. Yadav said that similarly in assembly constituency Phillaur 230 polling stations have been established while
Nakodar has 244, Shahkot 234, Kartarpur 217, Jalandhar West 158, Jalandhar Central 158, Jalandhar North 172, Jalandhar Cantt. 204 and Adampur has 213 polling stations. He also said that out of 9 assembly constituencies in Jalandhar, Phillaur has 2 male and 1 female NRI voters, Shahkot has 3 male and 4 female NRI voters, Kartarpur has 1 male and 1 female NRI voters, Jalandhar North has 2 male and 1 female, Jalandhar Cantt. has 1 male and 1 female, Adampur has 1 male and 1 female NRI voters. There are no NRI voters in Nakodar, Jalandhar West and Jalandhar Central constituencies.
Divulging further, he said that there are total 4135 service voters in Jalandhar out of which Adampur has highest number of 1614 which comprises of 1147 male and 467 female service voters. In Jalandhar Cantt. there are 687 service voters out of which 446 are male and 241 females while out of total 458 service voters in Kartarpur 308 are male and 150 female. Out of 400 service voters in Jalandhar Central 273 are male and 127 are females. In Shahkot there are 301 service voters out of which 223 are male and 78 females, Jalandhar North has 213 service voters out of which 141 are male and 72 are females, Phillaur has 162 service voters out of which 111 are male and 51 are females. Out of 161 service voters in Nakodar 101 are male and 60 are females and Jalandhar West has 139 service voters which comprise 92 are male and 47 are females.
