Chandigarh, February 18, 2017: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed a Chargesheet against an accused (husband of deceased) u/s 498-A, 302, 201 & 120-B of IPC in the Court of Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) in a case relating to alleged murder of his wife Smt. Sara Singh.
CBI registered the case on 19.10.2015 on the request from Uttar Pradesh Government & further notification from Government of India and took up the investigation of the case Crime No. 0387/2015 dated 18.07.2015 u/s 120-B, 302, 498A of IPC registered earlier at Police Station Sirsaganj, District Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh) on the compliant of mother of the deceased.
During investigation, it was found that after her marriage with accused, Smt. Sara Singh was allegedly being subjected to physical torture and cruelty by the accused. She was allegedly murdered on 09.07.2015 with a premeditated plan to get rid of her by the accused & others and the accused framed a fake road accident & presented the same as cause of death of victim Sara Singh.
CBI arrested the accused on 25.11.2016 and presently, he is in judicial custody. Further investigation is continuing.
The public is reminded that the above findings are based on investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established by a fair trial.
