New Delhi, February 19, 2017: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a Principal Secretary (IAS-1988), Chhattisgarh Government; a private person, resident of Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh); another Private person , resident of Hyderabad (Telangana) and other unknown persons U/s 120-B of IPC r/w Sec. 8 of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations related to payment of Rs. 1.5 Crore (approx.) by said public servant to private persons as gratification for help in a case against him, under investigation in CBI. It was further alleged that an amount of Rs. 45 Lakh(approx.) was handed over by the said public servant to hawala dealer at Raipur since 11.02.2017 onwards which was to be delivered at Delhi to the private person (r/o Greater Noida) at Delhi, out of which Rs. 20 Lakh (approx.) has been delivered to said private person at Delhi. It was also alleged that the receivers agreed to accept part gratification payment in the form of 2 Kg of Gold to be delivered by brother-in-law of said public servant to contact of another private person (r/o of Hyderabad) at Raipur.
During investigation, 2 Kg of gold was recovered. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused persons and Hawala operators at Raipur, Hyderabad & New Delhi/Greater Noida. An amount of Rs. 20 Lakh(approx.) earlier delivered to private person (r/o Greater Noida) at New Delhi, has also been recovered during searches.
Further investigation is continuing.
