Vidhan Sabha: AAP raises issues of potato growers, water works and stray animals
Chandigarh, March 29, 2017: On the last day of Punjab Vidhan Sabha session, AAP legislators raised the issue of lack of facilities to the potato growers in the state.
MLA from Bholath, Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that the potato growers of Punjab are suffering because of the apathy of government and rates of the crop has fallen to Rs. 2 per KG. He demanded that the farmers must be provided freight subsidy so that the farmers can send their crop to the other states of the country.
MLA from Sunam, Aman Arora raised the issue of Powercom disconnecting power connection of the water works in the state and demanded that till the government does not take any final decision on the issue the power connections should not be cut. He said that drinking water is the essential for all and it should be provided uninterrupted to the people.
Quoting the recent accident happened at Talwandi Sabo that claimed the lives of four people from the family, MLA from Talwandi Sabo Prof. Baljinder Kaur raised the issue of road accidents happening in the state due to stray animals. She demanded monetary help for the family of victim families.
Dirba MLA, Harpal Singh Cheema raises the issue of no reservation to the schedule caste and backward classes in the appointment of law officer in the state.
