PCS Promotions: UPSC selection panel meet postponed indefinitely
Chandigarh , April 24, 2017 : The meeting of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) selection panel to select 15 PCS officers for the promotion to IAS cadre has been postponed for indefinite period.
The meeting was scheduled to be held on April 26, 2017.
Apart from this, the indecision on part of the state government whether to go for an appeal or not in a case already decided by court in the favour of one of the officers is also being cited as a reason for the postponement of the meeting.
The list includes some of the officers censured by the state government for not submitting annual income returns to the government.
Apart from this, the indecision of the state government regarding the pending litigation in the case of another PCS officer is also being cited as a reason for the postponement of the meeting.
It may be recalled that the UPSC had fixed the meeting of selection panel to promote 15 PCS officers to IAS cadre.
