Patiala, May 27, 2017: Patiala AAP MP Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi on Saturday demanded removal of Power minister Rana Gurjit Singh from cabinet for his alleged involvement in capturing the sand mines through financial impropriety and illegal means.
He asked Chief Minister, Capt. Amarinder Singh to keep his promise of giving an honest and transparent government to the state, during his election campaign and remove the minister from his cabinet so that people’s faith in his is not eroded.
Dr. Gandhi has also demanded an Enforcement Directorate(ED) enquiry into the whole process of e-tendering of sand mines in the state, so as to unearth the other fraudulent and financial irregularities in the sand trade.
At the same time, appreciating the plain-speaking and bold revelations made by Captain Amarinder regarding “killings of twenty one militants handed over by him to the state, after taking into the confidence the then Prime Minister Sh. Chandra Shekhar”, Dr Gandhi asked him carry forward the spirit of same honest confession and reveal the names of twenty one Sikh youth persuaded by him to surrender, who were later killed in fake encounters by the state.
“It is irony that even the youth persuaded and handed over by the person of his status to the state machinery, were brutally murdered and it shows the extent of the killing of the Sikh Youth during the days of political turmoil in Punjab, from 1978 to 1995. Let the names of all political leaders, the whole state apparatus and police officials involved in this heinous and inhuman act be revealed, put to trial and punished as per the law of land,” Dr. Gandhi demanded.
This confession of the Chief Minister vindicates the stand of Khalra Mission Committee, which held that during days of militancy, thousands of Sikh youth were eliminated and their bodies disposed off as unclaimed, during those dark days in the name of “War Against Terrorism”.
Dr. Gandhi further demanded an immediate constitution of “Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission”, by an act of Parliament, on the lines of Anti- Apartheid commission in South Africa, so that the whole truth of “Terrorism” and “War on Terrorism” and the role of various political parties and agencies is unravelled and placed before the people of Punjab, the victim of deep conspiracy against the state.
