Police crack Jagraon dacoity case
Jagraon, June 13, 2017: The police arrested four accused involved in dacoity in Preet Vihar locality on Kacha Malak Road here on June 5.
At a news conference here today, IGP Zone-2, Jalandhar Arpit Shukla said the police recovered Rs 4 lakh cash, two mobile phones worth Rs 86000, two motorcycles, sharp edged weapons and iron rods used in the crime.
The accused were identified as Maninderdeep Singh of Moga, Manni Singh, Varinder Singh and Sukha Singh of Jagraon. The remaining six would be nabbed soon, added IGP Shukla.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to that on the day of incident, they all arrived at the rented room at Moga and from where they travelled on two motorcycles to execute the loot. Their other accomplices were already in Jagraon to watch house and shop of the complainant.
Dacoity was committed in the house of Jatinder Berry during which his two daughters Mahak (15) and Himani (10) were overpowered and handcuffed. They were threatened to disclose the whereabouts of cash and jewelry and thereafter broke open the locks of almirahs with rods and decamped with the about Rs 20 lakh.
