CBI arrests DRT recovery officer in bribe case

New Delhi, June 26, 2017: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested B.S.Sane a Recovery Officer, DRT Mumbai and Vijai his accomplice (a private person) in an alleged bribery.
The CBI spokesperson, RK Gaur said the accused were identified as BS Sane, Recovery Officer and Vijai, his accomplice.
The CBI registered a case on the allegations that the Recovery Officer has demanded a bribe of Rs.7,00,000 from the Complainant and instructed him to hand over the same in the form of a cheque to a private person (middle man) for releasing payment in favour of complainant's client.
It was also alleged that the accused introduced the middleman to the complainant and on his instructions, a cheque of Rs.7 lakh was issued and delivered to a middleman.
Gaur said that FDs to the tune of Rs.65 lakh, Krishi Vikas Patra worth Rs.9 lakh and some incrementing property documents were also recovered during the search from the residential premises of the alleged accused BS Sane.
Both the arrested accused were produced before the Competent Court and remanded to police custody till June 28.
