DLSA Fatehgarh Sahib organises camp on anti-drug day

Fatehgarh Sahib, June, 26: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organized a camp on the international anti-drug day at village Pola to create legal awareness as well as to curb this menace of drugs particularly among the youths.
Parshant Verma, Chief Judicial Magistrate ( CJM) cum Secretary, DLSA, Fatehgarh Sahib presided over.
Addressing the gathering CJM briefed the gathering about the ill-effects of drugs and how the youths fall in trap of drugs and become criminals. He said after becoming addict, the society and family have to face the consequences ultimately leads to disaster. He called upon the youths to utilise their energy in positive manner to help the needy and society by forming NGOs.
He also highlighted free legal aid being provided to the people belonging to SC/ST, child, women, mentally and physically handicapped, industrial workers, and victims of natural disasters, victims of trafficking in human and under custody.
He said that toll free number 1968 has been made operational to get information about free legal aid. He also highlighted the importance and benefits of Lok Adalts, which are proving very effective and successful in providing easy, speedy and cheap justice by way of settlement of cases by mutual understanding.
Khushwant Singh, Para Legal volunteer and Angoori Kaur, Sarpanch also addressed the gathering which was also attended by a large number of women. Pamphlets were also distributed among the villagers on the occasion.
