Bathinda: 21 July 2017: (APS Brar) Under the ongoing process of restructuring and upgrading of the software applications being used for driving license and vehicle registration, a 1 day training program was conducted by Transport Department Punjab. The program was organised in the committee hall at District Administrative Complex.
The training session was convened by Sakshi Sawhney IAS holding the charge of SDM Bathinda & Secy. RTA Bathinda.
Subhash Chander Khatak told that this program was held with an objective to impart training to the participants on the use of new Web based versions of Driving License and Vehicle Registration applications developed jointly by National Informatics Centre and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
Officials from Transport offices of Bathinda, Mansa, Sangrur and Barnala attended this program. In addition staff from all the SDM offices from these districts also took part in the training.
Mohit Joshi from NIC Punjab gave a presentation on using the Sarathi 4.0 for applying for driving licenses. Mohinder Singh and Attinder Singh shared the knowledge regarding operations of Vahan 4.0 application used for Vehicle Related services.
Narain Bir Singh, Project Coordinator at Bathinda from Transport Department Punjab explained that through the www.parivahan.gov.in Web portal, applicants can fill in their forms online and can also book their appointment for the test through the online slot booking.
He further informed that Bathinda is the pioneer district for implementing this Web based licensing application. Such citizen centric e governance interventions shall improve the quality and fasten the delivery of services. In the training he urged the staff from SDM offices to get their online logins created by filling the prescribed forms so all SDM sites can be brought live in the new and upgraded environment.
Discussing the work flows involved in License and Vehicle related transactions, he explicated that in the web based environment, text messages are sent to applicants at various phases of application processing informing the candidate about the latest updates on his file.
Applicants who had applied before 1st June 2017 for any service related to License at Automated Driving Test Track Bathinda are advised to complete their files and other required documentation and submit them so that they can be processed successfully before the new versions are implemented completely.
Others in the organization team who attended the training program were Mohit Sethi, Navjeet Singh, Rajeev Dhand and Daljeet Singh from District Transport Office Bathinda.
