The proposed policy addresses the promises made by the Congress with the industry in its poll manifesto. Under this, the state government will try to bring Rs 5 lakh crore investment into Punjab over next 5 years and attain the status of the best industrial state of the country
Since, power is the most crucial factor in the survival and development of the industry, the government has already takien steps to streamline the power supply system. In line with this, the government has proposed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the industry at the rate of Rs 5 per unit.
A separate blueprint has been prepared to put the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on a sound footing in the state. The MSMEs is the backbone of the industrial activity in the state and as such deserves attention.
