13 killed in Barcelona terror attack
Madrid, August 17, 2017: At least 13 people have reportedly been killed in what the police termed as a terror attack when a van crashed into pedestrians in Barcelona’s Las Ramblas district on Thursday evening.
Local media reports said the van was being driven by an unidentified man who fled from the spot after crushing pedestrians comprising tourists and local residents who thronged the famous Las Ramblas boulevard.
The people were advised after the attack against going to the area as the police and emergency services attended the injured on priority. The nearby stores, Metro and railway stations were ordered to remain shut.
The incident adds to a series of such attacks killing over 100 people across European cities Berlin, Stockholm, Nice and London.
