Jalandhar, September 24, 2017: The IAF-BSF Joint Women Camel Expedition- 2017 which was originated from IAF Station Uttarlai (Barmer-Raj) after passing through various border villages and towns of Gujarat (approx. 443 Kms), Rajasthan (approx. 609 Kms) has reached Punjab on 23 Sept 2017 at Border Out Post Nejeke, Sector BSF Abohar, where it was accorded grand reception. Further this IAF-BSF Joint Women Camel Expedition- 2017 will cover approx. 316 Km border areas as well as towns fall in AOR of Sector Abohar, Ferozepur and will be concluded in a gala ceremony at JCP Attari (Amritsar) on 2nd Oct 2017 after covering a total distance of approx. 1368 Kms.
This was stated by RS.Kataria DIG, BSF, Jalandhar here on Sunday. He said this that IAF-BSF Joint Women Camel Expedition- 2017 is aimed to build the positive image of BSF and to promote the spirit of adventure and enterprise among the population particularly youth and women in India. It will also motivate the Indian youth particularly the women folks towards adventurous events being a women expedition which will pass through the bordering villages. It will also promote the spirit of National Integration, Adventure, and patriotism amongst the Indian women population in particular and in general public at large. It will also create awareness among the border population towards BSF duties and its hardship and will promote a sense of security among the border population.
To spread the message this expedition is carrying ‘BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO’ your co-operation is highly solicited to arrange adequate coverage/ telecast of this event, so as to generate general awareness about it amongst the public at large.
