Dialogue Highway team calls on Punjab Governor Badnore
Chandigarh, October 18, 2017: The Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore on Wednesday met the core team of the Chandigarh-based Dialogue Highway Trust, led by well-known agricultural expert, Devinder Sharma, to appraise him about the objectives and success of the Blind Walk organised on October 12.
AppreciatIng the intention behind holding the Blind Walk, the Governor also urged the team to come up with proposals to promote organic agriculture in the city, including how to reach organic food to consumers.
The Governor also sought expertise on controlling termites that afflict trees and fauna on a massive scale in the city. He also showed interest in taking up the cause of the disabled, including children suffering from Down Syndrome.
The Dialogue Highway delegation presented him with an oil painting on the theme of agrarian crisis. This painting was done by a Chandigarh-based artists at an #ArtistsforFarmers painting event organised some months back. The idea behind holding the #ArtistsforFarmers painting camp was to engage different sections of the society in understanding and sharing the agony and pain that the farmers are undergoing.
Dialogue Highway's core team which met the Governor included Anil Sharma, Astinder Kaur, Swadesh Talwar, Ravinder Singh Billa, Dr Gurjit Kaur, Rahul Mahajan and G B Singh.
