Talent hunt show of MC Bathinda achieves popularity among people

Bathinda, 19 October, 2017: The talent hunt show started by the Municipal Corporation Bathinda in July this year has gained popularity among the people. The talent hunt show is invention of Sayyam Aggarwal, Commissioner MCB.
To encourage cultural activities and talent among citizens in the city, the Municipal Corporation Bathinda has started holding a talent hunt show every week end at the Balwant Gargi Open Air Theatre, Rose Garden, Bathinda. It was started on 6 July, 2017.
So far 323 citizens have enrolled themselves on the MCB portal. Besides, Bathinda city, upcoming artists from the neighbouring districts, Patiala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur and Sirsa in Haryana has participated in this event. Good number of enrolment of the people on the portal shows the talent hunt show has acquired recognition among the people.
Speaking with APS Brar, MCB Commissioner Sayyam Aggarwal said “The main object behind holding these competitions is to provide a platform to the upcoming artists and encourage people to come out with their talent”. It is organised on every Saturday in the open air theatre at the Rose Garden. One officer of the SDO or XEN level attends this show. Besides, one of the officers of the district administration, such as ADC Shena Aggarwal or SDM Sakshi Sawhney presides over a chief guest.
Sayyam Aggarwal is IAS officer of 2012 batch. He is holding three charges of different departments at Bathinda. Besides, Commissioner of MCB, he is Chief Administrator BDA and Deputy Director, Local Government.
SDM Sakshi Sawhney, who was chief guest of the Saturday event, said the competitions are held on every Saturday from 6:30 pm onwards. People have shown keen interest in the event as numbers of people joining the event are increasing every week.
To take part in the show, one can log on to www.mcbathinda.com and get himself registered. One can also contact the office of the Municipal Corporation. Any person with any kind of talent can be a part of the show. Every participant will be given a certificate. No entry fee has been imposed for taking part in the show. A reward of Rs 1000/- and 500/- is given to the two artists, who stand first and second in the event.
