Ferozepur, October 23, 2017: The Dengue disease patients count is rising every day in Ferozepur with over 252 patients tests found positive. While the health department claims that the situation is under control but the Dengue larva was found in the closed down fountain at Shaheed Udham Singh chowk.
As per the information, during the checking by the Civil Surgeon, Dr.Gurminder Singh, Dengue larva was found at the standing water at the fountain in Udham Singh Chowk. On the spot, directions were given to the Municipal Council authorities for making spray arrangements.
Civil Surgeon informed that the Dengue positive patients in Ferozepur are 252 for which a special cleanliness campaign has been started in the city especially where there is a standing water.
The local NGOs said, Udham Singh Chowk is the center of the city and finding of the larva at this place, is a dangerous sign which could further spread the tentacle in the city. They demanded from the administration to keep the fountain neat and clean.
SMO Pardeep Aggarwal confirmed that most of the patients belonged to slum areas but there is no death due to the Dengue positive tests. He said, the patients with low platelet count were being given PRP - platelet-rich plasma) separated from blood and none of the patients was critical. However, critical patients have been referred to the Medical College Faridkot.
