Ludhiana, November 21, 2017: The death toll has risen to 10 as 4 more bodies were recovered during the rescue and search operations continuing for the second day at the plastic factory building which had collapsed on Monday afternoon after being gutted in fire.
Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, Pradeep Agrawal, who has been continuously monitoring the operations, confirmed death of 10 persons while talking to babushahi.com over phone here this morning.
Besides, a local leader Laxman Dravid, bodies of four firefighters, factory's manager and the president of Punjab Taxi Union Inderpal Singh Pal were among those identified so far.
The police have registered case against the factory owner under section 304-A of the IPC.
The search operation by the teams of Army, National Disaster Relief Force, State Disaster Relief Force, Fire Department and Police were on at the time of filing this report.
Unconfirmed number of persons are feared trapped under the debris of the ill-fated building.
