Fatehgarh Sahib, November 21, 2017: Panditrao Dharenaver a resident of Karnataka working as Assistant Professor at Government College Chandigarh, Sector-46, has single handily initiated a campaign against the Punjabi vulgar, alcoholic, weaponry songs by issuing a legal notice to all the music channels, singers, audio- video recording companies and marriage hall owners not to play, record and singing such songs.
He has adopted the Nobel method as he stood for hours carrying hoarding on his head in front of GGS World University and then in front of historical Gurudwara at Fatehgarh Sahib to attract the youth and people. his supporter distributes pamphlet requesting people not to dance to the tune of such vulgour songs, which have brought a bad name to rich Punjabi culture. The students in large number assured him that they are with him in Nobel cause and won't listen and dance on such vulgour songs.
Talking to The Tribune Asstt. Prof. said that he has filed a writ petition in High Court in this regard CWP-2701-2016 Panditrao Dharenaver v/s Principal Secy. to Govt. Of Punjab and others. He has asked all the stake holders singers, recording houses etc. to tender an apology by 15th December for singing and recording such songs, otherwise he will make them party on 18th December the next hearing.
He said he has started the campaign from Patiala and covered Ludhiana, Kotkapura, Faridkot, Nabha, Zirakpur and now he is in Fatehgarh Sahib. He said being non Punjabi, he has great respect for Punjabis and Punjabi culture as he has read books, so he wanted to get rid Punjabi culture from such anti Punjabi people, who brought bad name to Punjabis.
Answering query, he said till today neither Punjabi organisation nor SGPC has spoken to him. He said if SGPC extend helping hand, it can be a boost to his campaign.
