Chandigarh, November 21, 2017: The Haryana Excise and Taxation Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, has directed the officers to organise a special campaign to facilitate filing of GSTR-3B returns.
Presiding over a meeting of officers of the department at Panchkula, near here, today, Capt Abhimanyu told them to compile the data of population, gross domestic product, and per capita income of each district, so that the IGST could be calculated accurately.
At the recent meeting of the GST Council held in Guwahati, the rate of GST was slashed from 28 per cent 18 per cent on various items and a new category of composition tax payer was created in which restaurants and other service sectors were included.
The Additional Chief Secretary of the Department, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal, said Haryana had been significantly contributing to the economy of the country through GST. After big states such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat, Haryana is the fifth biggest contributor. Officer of the district which would achieve the target of cent per cent filing of GSTR-3B returns, would be honoured by the GST Council, he added.
The Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Mrs. Ashima Brar, directed the officers to launch a campaign for the recovery of the arrears under GST. Under GST, 1,17,473 registrations have been done of migrant and new registrations, taking the total registration of dealers under GST to 2,13,107.
