Model Anganwadis will come at Chananwal, Thikriwala & Sohal Patti
Project being developed through CSR activity: DC Thori

Barnala district is to develop three model Aanganwari’s for the welfare of children residing in rural areas of the district. Deputy Commissioner Mr Ghanshyam Thori informed that these model Aanganwari’s are coming up at villages Chananwal, Thikriwal and Sohal Patti of Barnala district. He stated that the work has already started and would be completed in a month’s time.
Mr Thori informed that the District Administration had felt the need to develop Model Aanganwari’s for the welfare of children residing in rural areas. He stated that when the work on these aanganwari’s completes, the children would be able to avail of facilities at par with those provided at private crèche’s or schools.
These model aanganwari’s will have interactive classrooms equipped with all kinds of audio-visual aids for children, interactive wall paintings, children friendly toilets, good quality furniture, besides other amenities that are beneficial for the children.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that all funds for this project have been generated through the CSR activity and convergence of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. He said that the funds under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme have been utilised for this noble and social cause.
He said that the District Administration is committed for strengthening the state-run education setup in Barnala.
It is pertinent to mention that the District Administration has already started work on fully revamping the premises of Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), here. A maths park would also be developed for the benefit of students in the school premises and also in Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Barnala city. One such park has already been developed at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) at Tapa town, where the students are being taught in an innovative way. He said the second such park at Tapa would be coming up at Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) in Tapa. The funds for this purpose have also been generated through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity with the active support of some philanthropists.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the authorities of other government run schools to contact him or his office if there is any requirement of infrastructure in their premises.
