Jalandhar, December 14, 2017: In a good news for the public transport system in the state, the Punjab Roadways Jalandhar-I has earned a profit of Rs 1.04 crore during the last month i.e November, 2017.
Divulging the details, the General Manager of Punjab Roadways Jalandhar-I Mr. Praneet Singh Minhas, during interaction with the media persons, said that the depot has earned this profit exclusive of all the inputs in form of diesel, spare parts, taxes, bills and others. Giving the credit of this profit to the dedication and hard work of all the employees Mr. Minhas said that this trend would be continued in future also adding that this profit was being earned by the depot continuously from last one year. Congratulating the officers/ officials of the depot, he said that the concerted efforts of all of them have enabled them to touch this profit.
Mr. Minhas said that there were around 110 buses in the fleet of the depot including nine Volvo and 101 normal buses. He said that besides operating on long routes like Delhi, Haridwar, Jaipur, Nainital, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Katra, Pathankot, Talwara and others the depot was also connecting the villages through Rural bus service. Likewise, Mr. Minhas said that the depot was providing direct service of Volvo bus from Jalandhar to Indira Gandhi international Airport.
Mr. Minhas said that realizing its duty to check the depleting green cover the depot has also initiated campaign to plant more and more number of trees within the periphery of the Bus stand and in the premises of their offices to enhance the green cover. He said they were fully committed towards enhancing the green cover around the Bus stand of the city. Mr. Praneet Singh said that it was their bounden duty to keep the city clean, green and pollution free.
