Ludhiana, December 14, 2017: Federation of Commercial and Industrial Organisations (FICO) on Thursday opposed the decision of Ludhiana Effluent Treatment Society increasing charges of effluent treatment.
FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular and General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sachdeva said the 18 percent increase in charges was wholly uncalled for and unjustified.
They urged Director Industries, who is also the chairman of Effluent Treatment Society, to rollback the decision to give relief to the industry reeling under ongoing financial crunch.
There is approximately 400000 litre of effluent being treated daily in Ludhiana. The modern technique of treating the effluent at treatment plant in Ludhiana should ideally make the treatment cost-effective, they observed.
