Congress whacks SAD-BJP in Amritsar MC polls, wins 69 out of 85 wards

Chandigarh, December 17, 2017: Continuing its winning streak, Congress registered overwhelming victory in Amritsar Municipal Corporation polls, the results of which were declared on Sunday evening.
Its candidates won in 69 out of total 85 wards.
The candidates of rival SAD-BJP Combine managed to win only 12 wards whereas the Independents got elected from 4 wards.
The main Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to open account in the polls it contested for the first time.
