Book on relationship between mother in law and daughter in law

Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab Mr. Suresh Arora and noted Punjabi singer Mr. Gurdas Mann today unveiled a book ‘Padma’ written by Deputy Director State Career Guidance Cell Mrs. Shruti Shukla, the wife of Inspector General (IG) of Police Mr. Arpit Shukla.
Addressing the gathering after releasing the book at Lovely Professional University, the Director General of Police said that in his entire service spanning for more than three decades he had always seen daughter-in-laws fighting with mother-in-laws and vice a versa. However, Mr. Arora said that for the first time he has witnessed a daughter in law eulogizing her mother in law that too by penning a book. He said that this was certainly a unique experience, which hopefully would be replicated in society in coming time too.

The DGP said that perhaps for the first time this relationship has been presented before the society in a new light. He said that Dr. Shruti Shukla has created a history by writing this book, which was a real, humble and befitting tribute to her mother-in-law. Mr. Arora congratulated her for scripting a new success story by penning this book.
In his address, renowned Punjabi singer Mr. Gurdas Mann also hailed Dr. Shukla for selecting this out of the box idea to write an emotional book. He said that the book was a reflective of the fact that little things could transform lives by bringing in big changes. Mr. Mann said that the book was a real tribute to all the mothers, which play an important role in the overall development of every individual.
Earlier, in his welcome address IG Mr. Arpit Shukla said that it was a momentous occasion for them as two ideal men viz. the DGP and Mr. Mann, who were highly revered in Punjab were here to release this book. Mr. Shukla said that the book was a biopic novel with a message to strengthen family ties. He said that the book was result of persistent efforts made by his wife by sparing time from her busy schedule to pen this book.
Later, on Dr. Shruti Shukla thanked the DGP, Mr. Mann and all other dignitaries for gracing the occasion. She said that the book was a tribute to her mother in law, who was very close to her heart. Dr. Shukla said that though she had written books earlier also but all those were written from brain but this one has been penned directly from heart.
She said that the book was a very emotional journey for her adding that she had tried to give her 100% in the book. Dr. Shukla further said that a woman’s life was a multi tasking one but then also they excel in it with the grace of God. She thanked all the people who had played an important role in giving shape to this book.
