Punjab officers bags National Awards for Best electoral practices 2017
Ravi Bhagat and Vipul Ujjwal selected for "innovative use of IT"

Bathinda: 19 January, 2018: Two IAS officers of Punjab, Ravi Bhagat Chief Administator PUDA and Vipul Ujjwal Deputy Commissioner of Hoshiarpur have been selected for the national awards 2017 for best electoral practices. They were posted as DC of Ludhiana and SBS Nagar respectively in 2017.
They have been selected for "innovative use of IT". The awards, given by the Election Commission of India every year, will be conferred upon the winners by President Ram Nath Kovind at the function in Delhi to mark the National Voter's Day on January 25 at Zorvar Auditorium, Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.
Ravi Bhagat has served as Deputy Commissioner of Faridkot, Amritsar and Ludhiana. He has done lot of work in the state to make use of of ICT services for improving efficiency and effectiveness in various departments at district level. During his postings as DC Faridkot, Amritsar and Ludhiana, Ravi Bhagat launched number of initiatives in education sector, health sector, social sector, and e-governance sector.
Vipul Ujjwal Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur
Vipul Ujjwal has served as Deputy Commissioner of SBS Nagar and presently posted as Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur. Earlier, during 2014 elections, He have invented ‘ivote’ a user friendly application, which provided various election related utility features like searching EPIC details, finding directions to the one’s polling booth, information about affidavits submitted by contesting candidates, a comprehensive model code of conduct for ready reference and an easy complaint submission mechanism.
