Chandigarh, May 29, 2016: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today said that the Chief Minister Parkash Badal Singh was suffering from severe symptoms of selective dementia as he had forgotten the present and was only brooding over the past.
“And that is the reason the rampant lawlessness and anarchy does not concern him as he seems to be blissfully unaware of whatever is happening around and still believes that Punjab is peaceful and propserous”, he said in a statement issued here today.
“That is the reason he is not able to remember the recent killing of a policeman in broad day light by the criminals, attack on a religious preacher by over two dozen people, killing of the Namdhari Mata, shooting dead of a security guard of a bank in Moga”, Capt Amarinder said, while pointing out, “still Mr Badal will try to make us believe that Punjab is a completely peaceful state.
Referring to the Chief Ministers claims that the Punjabis were prosperous and there were no drug addicts in the state, the PCC president said, “again this is the symptom of senility and dementia as Mr Badal does rightly remember that Punjab ‘was’ prosperous, but forgets that it is not any more”.
He pointed out, almost every day there were reports of farmers committing suicide, gangsters killing each other and at times even policemen and youth dying of drug overdose and addiction, which has only gone up.
“And Mr Badal has the audacity to describe all these happenings as ‘petty incidents”, he said, wondering, “what is he waiting for to happen before he feels like taking some action”
